Only English uses Ellipsis in this way as
far as I know. At least it's not used that way
in French. The French wiki page...

... indicates the differences of usage of the
ellipsis between French and English.

So it would be best to make the change for
English only.

English can also use 4 dots (3 dots for the
Ellipsis + the final dot).  French never uses
4 dots.
