Only English uses Ellipsis in this way as far as I know. At least it's not used that way in French. The French wiki page... http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Points_de_suspension ... indicates the differences of usage of the ellipsis between French and English. So it would be best to make the change for English only. English can also use 4 dots (3 dots for the Ellipsis + the final dot). French never uses 4 dots.
