It works like a charm. I updated the failing rule (which actually warns
for bad single quotes) an adjusted the incoming char conversion for the
spellchecker to match.

I am currently working on checking all postags of nouns; it is a bit of a
mess. I will not be able to get them all fixed before next release, but I
will get quite far, I hope. That will reduce quite a bit of false alarms.
