as we do very limited tracking, this is difficult to tell. LT (as in: the LT homepage) has most users in Germany, Russia, and Poland. The Firefox extension has about 12,000 installations, the Chrome extension has just been released so it doesn't have many users yet. We have 2600 new downloads of the LibreOffice/OpenOffice extension per month, but that doesn't count updates and users who download the extension from elsewhere. We have about 2000 downloads of the stand-alone version per month (again, only counting the users who download it from our homepage). You can have a look at https://languagetool.org/languages/ and click on the columns to get a feeling for which languages are actively developed and how complete their support is. Roughly, the more XML rules, the better the support for that language. > Who LTs main competitors are?; and, LT competitive advantages in its > market? - to understand how to differentiate LT, and which > distribution channels for marketing may be most effective. The most popular commercial checkers might be Grammarly and Whitesmoke, they are not free and support only English. The other Open Source checkers are also limited to one or a few languages, there's a list at http://wiki.languagetool.org/other-open-source-grammar-checkers > A SWOT analysis thoughts of LT? - to understand which strategies might > be best poised for success. That hasn't been done yet, but it sounds like a good idea. Can you maybe start and guide us in the right direction? I guess most people don't have experience with making a SWOT analysis.
