Hi guys,
I am joining languagetool.org as a Community Manager. I come from a
Computer Engineering background and my primary interests and development
work have been hardware related. So, I do not have much of a typical
software development experience. But I don't think that should be of any
major concern.
I am also a Corresponding Editor at IEEE Potentials which is a magazine for
undergraduate and graduate students, professionals and recent graduates and
I generally run themed issues besides the regular editorial work.
We run a careers theme based issue every year in the 1st quarter, this
being the second of the six issues in a year.
As part of community engagement initiative, I would like to mention that
perhaps we can consider submitting an article on languagetool to this
issue. Students would find it useful. But at the same time, we may need to
include some comparison with other tools like Grammarly, StyleWriter.
If you guys like this idea, it would be better if some of you do the basic
technical writing and comparison. It would be best if you guys can write
the complete article yourself so that I avoid a conflict of interest.
However, I can pitch in with introduction, conclusion and overall shape of
the article if needed. We can work out the details if this plan goes
through.
Please feel free to email me privately or on the list.
Cheers!
