I am using OS 2008.11 on a laptop ThinkPad T60. I have tried to use my 1gb USB stick with it, but without success - immediately after pluging-in the stick to USB, the stick LED blined couple of times (so there was some activity), but no icon appeared on a desktop (as usual). So I have tried to access the stick using menu "Places-USB Drive" but it popped out an error message with text:
Unable to scan USB Drive for media changes Cannot invoke CheckForMedia on HAL: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "CheckForMedia" with signature " on interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Storage.Removable" doesn't exits Stick works OK on other machines running Linux/Windows and it worked on same laptop.
