Hi all,

I've got a Toshiba Satellite A60 that has an AC'97 ATI IXP200 soundcard
that doesn't work under OpenSolaris (or any version of Solaris).

I recently installed OpenSolaris 2008.05 (both Live install and
installed to HDD) with different results. Under the Live install, the
speaker shows it's working and volume is set to 75% although sound
doesn't work (tested in Gnome's system sound utility).

After installing OS to HDD I get a red line through the speaker.

I've put the before and after install to HDD results for dmesg, prtconf
-D and scanpci -v on my Website plus some other info at:

http://www.foo-unix.org/toshiba/satellite/a60/laptop.html

Also, when booting up, I get a lot of:
WARNING: AC97 read timed out
messages. Perhaps this is a clue on how to fix it.

I also get the following message appearing 3 times when booting up:
NOTICE: pcic_set_window: unknown cardbus vendor: 0x15241411
but I'm using an Avaya pcmcia WLAN card and it works perfectly using the
pcwl driver. What does this error mean?

The CPU also has problems:
NOTICE: cpu_acpi: _PSS package not found.
Jun 3 01:15:53 lappy cpudrv: [ID 978953 kern.warning] WARNING:
cpu_acpi: error parsing _PSS for CPU instance 0

If someone could help me with any of these issues, I'd be most
appreciative. I know its a lot of stuff listed above but someone might
know a simple fix that I'm not aware of like an entry in
/etc/driver_aliases etc.

I'm desperate to get this working properly.

Thanks in advance,
Steve
