Hi,

I've been using SXDE for a while at work and other locations but once I took it
home I couldn't get a dhcp address from the wireless nic. I have had it home
before while it was running linux (gentoo) and it worked fine.

It's a Toshiba Tecra M2 with an Intel Pro 2200BG wireless internal card with
the iwi driver. I'm now running SXDE 01/08 snv_79a.

I'm connecting to a Belkin Pre-N router model number F5D8230-4 with the latest
firmware. I'm using 128 bit WEP.

Everything works fine when I boot/log into the laptop. I get the popup showing
all of the wireless networks in range. I select the correct essid. It then
pops up a dialog asking for the WEP key. Enter that...then nothing.

Ifconfig shows that the interface is up but has an IP of 0.0.0.0. I check
dladm and the secobj exists. I've also tried snooping the interface. Once
nwam tries to connect I see the following scrolling under snoop:

OLD-BROADCAST -> BROADCAST      DHCP/BOOTP DHCPDISCOVER

I see that several times and I also see arps from other systems. The other odd
thing is that when I check the dhcp client list on the router I see the
wireless card's mac address and it shows that an address has been assigned...it
just never gets back to solaris.

I have tried all of this manually by disabling nwam and using the dladm
commands. I get the same response. I can see that I've connected to the
router with dladm show-wifi. It shows connected, that it's using wep, the
strength is good and it's using the 'g' mode. Doing an ifconfig iwi0 dhcp ends
up with a timeout.

I've also tried assigning a fixed address and I get nowhere.

I've been looking into this for a while but finally have to turn to you all for
help.

Thanks!
