The thread started here: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=21920 JC Van Nieuwenhoven complained that the Logitech v450 optical mouse was not recognized. The /var/adm/messages file on his system showed an USB mouse hid device was detected, but (I guess) apparently no mouse events are seen by the X server. JC Van Nieuwenhoven was running Solaris 10 x86 11/06. Daniel Liston and Ross Plews seem to agree, Logitech v450 doesn't work with Solaris. But they didn't tell us which Solaris release they are using. > I just tried a V450 on a ThinkPad T61 running snv_64a 64 bit and > it works just fine, including the scroll wheel. Aha, you're running OpenSolaris. That might explain why it works for you, but not for JC Van Nieuwenhoven. Your v450 mouse is connected via USB? Or is it connected on a PS/2 port (using some USB<->PS/2 adapter)? > Anything I can do to help w/the original problem - whatever > that was? > > Otherwise, sorry about the noise...
