Good day, I've recently installed Opensolaris on my Inspiron 8200, and it seems to be working fine for the mostpart. There are a couple of annoyances, however.
I'm using the ath driver for wireless, but on every bootup I have to replumb the interface? Is that to be expected or not? Second problem is trying to register with the wizard. I've verified the credentials are correct and that connectivity is working fine, but it just hangs there, doesn't do anything. I've tried both wired and wireless connections. Overall, this is a nice OS. There's not an overabundance of options to do simple tasks, it's stable and reasonably fast. I've had to learn a few things with respect to compiling programs, which I've enjoyed. This message posted from opensolaris.org
