It would be years before we can have all supported devices converted so that
the Xserver doesn't have to run with full privileges on any of them, unless
we start dropping support for all the old devices and whittle the support
list down to just the few vendors left today (ATI, nVidia, Intel, Matrox,
and VIA would be about it).
