Thanks Alan. A friend advised the same thing. I ran into a problem though, when I issued : /usr/X11/bin/Xorg -configure, it came back with an error :
dlopen: ld.so.1: Xorg: fatal:/usr/X11/lib/modules//amd64/libpcidata.so: wrong ELF class ELFCLASS64. I did however managed to create an xorg.conf (something I didnt want to do, I dont like xorgconfig ) doing something that worked perhaps out of luck: I noticed that /etc/X11 had no xorg.conf but a .xorg.conf , which I suppose is the on-the-fly config file when there isnone, so I simply did a cp .xorg.conf xorg.conf and I worked. I know that is reading it since It responds to changes (sometimes making my keyboard unusable). So far I have a latam keyboard that can swithc to us so am able to print the '?' character. I don't know why it doesnt let me print the ' (vowels with punctuactions), but am getting close. The other thing I need to be done with this is external monitor.. Still not working. Guess there is no way around editing xorg.conf for these things Thanks Alan. (By the way thanks to Naubert too for walking me out of the tunnel too) Pedro This message posted from opensolaris.org
