I would check out the Sony Vaio SZ series... it's a Core 2 Duo (dual 
core Intel), has a DVD writer, can go up to 2GB of memory and has a 
100GB disk option and isn't too bad at around 4 pounds.

It's not cheap though. :)

The guys at the Sony Style store were fine with me booting up a Belenix 
LiveCD on it.
