Back in May I asked a similar question and got the
following answer from Vincent Wang:

In snv_44, CR6354996 and CR6419924 are still not fixed yet. These bugs can 
impact cardbus.
The recommended version is still v0.3 at present (Since it's a non-offical 
version, it includes some hacks to handle these bugs. It's still better right 
now)

For SPARC, the only version that can be used is the one in snv_44. It was 
tested on Sun's servers with PCI-to-CardBus adapters but not tested on 
Tadpole's SPARC laptops yet. (Garrett's offering some help on this)

Looking at the bug database this morning, it appears that
neither of the above bugs are closed.  So I wonder if one still
should install Cardbus 0.3 in place of the provided pcic on x86
with recent versions of Nevada?
