Pls verify whether the card is a cisco one.
If the card is a built-in one, run 'prtconf -pv|grep pci14b9'
If the card is a plug-in pccard, run 'prtconf -v|grep pccard'

And, before you run 'ifconfig pcan0 plumb', make sure the instance for 
the pcan wifi interface is '0', otherwise,
you should run 'ifconfig pcan1 plumb' (say instance is '1')
