What specific hotkeys are you interested in?

Besides the brightness adjustment hotkeys, we'll have volume
down/up/down hotkey support in final 2009.06 release. You can wait and
have a try with latest 2009.06(b111b based) release. I tried it on
Lenovo T61p and those volume hotkeys work fine.

Since currently we don't have a ACPI-based hotkey driver for non-toshiba
models, if you also want other hotkey functions, such as screen lock,
suspend to RAM etc, you can customize a keyboard shortcut you like
for those functions through:
     Gnome->Preference->Keyboard Shortcuts
