Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-N38Z laptop with 82801G Intel HD sound. Since long I
have always had good and working sound, no noise or anything wrong. In the
latest builds of SXCE however I can get no sound at all. The driver still seems
to attach successfully and nothing strange shows up in /var/adm/messages. I
cannot tell exactly when it stopped working because I hadn't had so much time
to listen to music at work. But I know for sure that in the last 7 or 8 builds
something has changed. I am now with snv_105, but since snv_104 I noticed the
problem already. Maybe earlier.

I noticed today that playing an audio CD with Rhythmbox, plugging the
headphones and setting volume (both Rhythmbox and master) to 100% I get very
low sound that can barely be heard -- for folks that will know what I'm talking
about, it's roughly like when you had an LP playing with the volumes totally
down and you would approach your ears to the disc platter :-)

Any ideas? Changes to mixer? What about these audio HD codec parsers? I miss my
MP3 files...

Cheers,
Doug
