Its not a trivial undertaking. > > Well, since Russell just needs the wired 802.1x support not wireless, you needn't backport the 802.11 stack, but you need to add the wired support in the wpa_supplicant; besides, you need to enhance a NIC driver to support 802.1x and define IOCTLs between the driver and the supplicant. Of couse, you needs a tool to configure the supplicant.
