Hi folks,

We've just released a new version of the popular
Atheros wireless driver (ath) at:

https://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/laptop/wireless/ath

This version is based on the latest HAL from Atheros and it
should support all existing wireless Atheros chipsets. There
have been no other features added to it, so if version 0.1
works for you, there's really no reason to upgrade unless you
like being on the bleeding edge.

If you do decide to upgrade you should now a few things...

Version 0.2 requires new wificonfig utility that can be
downloaded from the same web page. This is the same version
of wificonfig that is included in Nevada build 29. If you
try to use ath-0.1 with old wificonfig, you won't be able
to connect to any wireless networks since the interface
between them has changed a bit.

Version 0.2 is *newer* than the one included in Nevada
build 29, and while it was tested internally it is still considered
experimental, so use it on your own risk. When this version
gets tested enough, we'll be putting it back in Solaris, but
there's no date set for that yet.

If you have a chipset that was not supported by the previous
version, we'd really like to hear if version 0.2 works now.

Happy WiFi-ing :-)
