You have no other choices but using ath-0.7.3 for adhoc mode support now, and there is also no schedule to add adhoc features in ON version..... If possible, i'll development a special version which can be installed in the latest builds , and release it to opensolaris.org; i can not give you an accurate schedule about it because it's not on my todo list now, but i'll share my information with you if we get any progress about it. BTW, there is no crossbow support for wifi.
