It's easily pressed by accident; I had that happen to me while working.
The setting of the button is persistent unless:
- the battery drains (I think it reverts to off then)
- you boot windows (windows has a default setting for each user;
when you login the acer tool will apply that setting to the
laptop; that setting will be persistent also)
