I've got a laptop with a 12.1" wxga screen, which should be able to do
1280x768 resolution.
Google yields various Linux hits, all dependent on using the
855resolution or 915resolution programs to update the vbios with
settings for the mode.
Anybody got a way to set my bios, and/or tell Xorg the mode parameters
without doing so? I added hsync/vrefresh ranges and a modeline, but it
still tells me
Not using mode "1280x768" (no mode of this name)
...even though I have defined one via ModeLine in the Monitor section.
