Greetings, This message is to the newly live Approachability community, and is being copied to the Networking and Laptop communities. Please address follow-up messages to approach-discuss rather than to me or either of the other two mailing lists.
The Approachability community is now live: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/approachability/ Its first affiliated project is called Network Auto-Magic: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/approachability/nwam/ which is just a fancy term for simplified and automated network configuration. The web page contains a crude block diagram giving an overview of the how the architecture is currently envisioned. More useful are the story boards: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/approachability/nwam/story-boards/ which describe various user experiences as a way to gather requirements. So far, we have been working internally like most Sun projects prior to the advent of OpenSolaris, but we have always intended to "move out" once things were ready, and now is the time. We are very interested in getting feedback from the broader community, so feel free to subscribe to the approach-discuss mailing list and join in the conversation. -- John
