I'm planning to give my Lenovo T60p a RAM boost (it currently has 2 GB); on
Lenovo's support page
(http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-62487)

I found this bit of information:

> Memory 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, or 2GB and supports up to 4GB maximum memory
> Note: Only 64-bit operating systems support more than 3GB of system
> memory (RAM). Intel Chipsets 945GM and 945PM do not support more than 3GB
> system memory (RAM), even when a 64-bit operating system is installed.

which poses the question "which chipset do I have"? I've looked in the BIOS
and in scanpci output and I even booted Windows to see whether I could find
any clear indication ... so far, without success.

Is there some way to determine for sure which chipset is in my laptop?

The sticker on the bottom says "type 8744-c9u", in case this helps.

TIA
Michael
