Hi,

I have an IBM R51 laptop that uses the Intel Graphics Extreme Chipset. At
build 130 these cards have stopped being supported because of a bug. I have
filed a bug report on this.

http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=13591

The official reply is that this is in fact a bug and it is being tracked in
bugster.

This is being tracked in bugster as 6912996

Ok, fine, it's being worked on.

In the meantime the release number keeps going up and it's still being worked
on.

So I downloaded the iso for build 132 and did the default boot for the Live-CD
and it still goes dark and stops on me.

So I rebooted and took the VESA option and I get to see the desktop again.

So, is there an easy way for me to do:

pkg image-update

and then can I just copy the VESA line from the Live-CD menu.lst file and
reboot or would I need to do something else?

Then I can use the VESA boot until the Intel graphics issue gets sorted out.

thanks in advance,
alan
