Hi, I'm trying to remove services and scripts, so that the boot time doesn't take so long. Also to free up some memory on one of my old laptops (HP Evo N600c).
Can anyone tell me if it's okay to remove (as U can see, I just moved them to my home directory) the following scripts: /home/perarne/S04mdadm-raid /home/perarne/S18ifupdown-clean /home/perarne/S22hwclockfirst.sh /home/perarne/S38pppd-dns /home/perarne/S39dns-clean /home/perarne/S39ifupdown /home/perarne/S50hwclock.sh /home/perarne/S51ntpdate Are there anymore scripts that I can remove. I have unmarked in "bum" the following services, are they "safe" to remove? Are there other services that I can remove safely? ifupdown-clean mdadm ntpdate pcmcia (know that this sounds strange...but I don't have any pcmcia cards.) fetchmail pppd-dns ppp dns-clean apmd bluez-utils (don't have any bluetooth devices) Regards Per Arne Nilssen [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- laptop-testing-team mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/laptop-testing-team
