I managed to reproduce this bug too, but I didn't even need to suspend my computer. I just let it on all night long (on main power). When I woke up, the screen was black and nothing could make it come back. Pressing the power button shut it down properly (it's configure to shut down when I press the power button), so I guess it wasn't frozen. Could it be a bug in XOrg ?
