I just tried both 2.3.5-1ubuntu12 and 2.3.5-1ubuntu15 from libc6{,-i686}
without any luck... :-(
Seems that my bet was wrong, I'm almost sure the problem is somewhere
else...
Could you try to upgrade your system in baby-steps, so we can have a
chance to discover the problem as soon as we can?
Also, please send me your 'strace synclient -l' output so I can take a
check.
