I'd like to note that IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad X41-2527 users running current Dapper will have working sound after resuming from suspend (does not require rebooting) as long as they're running the latest BIOS from Lenovo. It looks like this annoying "feature" can finally be marked off for users of ThinkPad X41-2527s (and possibly additional X41s). Additional testing by ThinkPad users (of differing models) is greatly appreciated. > 2) USB may not survive suspend/resume. If it doesn't, please try > upgrading to the latest acpi-support package. While USB in current Dapper survives suspend/resume just fine, I have an interesting use case: Many of my students have USB drives. The ones who have taken it upon themselves to use ext[23], JFS, and so on find that plugging in their drives after resuming from suspend do not find their volumes automounted in GNOME. (No, they're not umounting the volumes prior to suspending). A "simple" fsck (just replaying the journal) prior to mounting allows their volumes to be automounted again. Thanks, -- Daniel T.
