So far things seem the same as they were with breezy, but I cannot get the sound working. When I hit the sound applet and try to open the preferences I get the message that "No volume sontrol GStreamer plugins and/or devices found."
I believe what this means is that the sound card is not configured. So, how do I do this?
Using breezy it was a simple matter of installng realteks alsa package, but the attempt to do this on dapper failed with errors at the make stage of the process. I tried to load the snd-hda-intel module, but received the following message:
" Module snd_hda_intel not found."
ok folks, I screwed my courage to the sticking place and upgraded to dapper flight 5. I am ujsing an Asus a5ec notebook.
