Hi Scott,
The default action (in acpi-support) is to turn off the screen, but you
can tweak what happens when you close the lid in GNOME Power Manager.
Hope it helps.
Cheers,
Celso

Hi,
I am running Dapper Drake Flight 5 on an HP DV4000 laptop. Sleep on
lid close only works if I have manually put the laptop to sleep once by
going to the logout screen and clicking "Sleep". After that the laptop
will happily sleep on lid close and come back up on lid open.
Any ideas why the lid close only starts being acted upon after first
putting the laptop to sleep manually?
Thanks,
Scott
