Le' sigh. Looks like the ipw2200 + ACPI problem is back on the latest Dapper on Canonical-Issued Toshiba Tecra A4. mdge and I walked through debugging and found it was that it checked for a certain BIOS version (1.60 I think) and disabled ACPI automatically if you had it. I upgraded to the latest at the time (1.7 something) and got around this. Enabling ACPI fixed a similar problem to the one I link to below. I do wonder if the latest kernel kills ACPI on the newer BIOS for the A4.
