Problem widely discussed, which I tested also myself while I have similar Asus A6K with BCM4318. I used (with success) this manual: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=190177 My fellow citizen had created some elegant(?) solution: http://night.jogger.pl/2007/01/02/broadcom-bcm4318-instalator-dla-ubuntu/ Click "download", then unpack the archive and start the script install. I did not tested this, so don't blame me ;) if it will burn your half of the Earth to radioactive ashes. There is also a notice about buggy half-open driver (firmware blob is needed anyway) since kernel 2.6.17. Please post a feedback about your success.
