ROFL. Tucker, P T Withington, ptw, some people hearing me called 'P T' think my name is Petey. I have many aliases. But I had quite a laugh at being confused with a Python->Java translation tool. :)
That tool is really called Jython and it does a fair job, but I hope to improve performance a bit by using the existing Python as a specification and writing in a more Java friendly style the same algorithms.
Oliver will also tell you that I gave him the usual overly-optimistic engineer's estimate of what it would take to do this (based on having already done it on some vastly simpler parts of the compiler). I am just about 4x over my original estimate, which is why Oliver is so hopeful it may be done soon. Perhaps not this week, but I do have some bits running that I am testing, so there has been progress.
