Hi Sarah, hi Sebastian,

I did some testing with Red5 V0.41. Streaming video worked with Flash 7 and
Flash 8. The quality was not so good, but hey, it's a start. I took some of
the code from SVN repository Sarah mentioned.

I tried to use a persistent connection to send a signal the moment the video
stream is available for the client. But that messed up the communication in
some way. Everything was delayed and sending of messages and video
transmission didn't work correctly anymore. Don't know enough about the
Flash API for streaming video to get deeper into it.

Best,
Raju

Betreff: [Laszlo-dev] video status and flv http question

Hi folks,

Sebatian Wagner and I have been digging into streaming video with Flash
Media Server and Red5. It's all very wet cement, but if you are eager, you
can look at what were up to in
http://svn.openlaszlo.org/openlaszlo/branches/video/test/video/
Eventually we'll sort out some APIs and move the core classes to extensions
and components. For now, it's really just a bunch of test files.

A lot of people have asked about streaming flv over http. I know that's
possible, but haven't ever coded it myseld (just seen it done on a bunch of
video sites). Any Flash gurus out there know the ActionScript code that
does that and want to help out?

Thanks,
Sarah
