The really big snag is that as I've been editing this page, I'm still waiting for the DHTML version to compile.
Suggest you try in Firefox with Firebug enabled. If the DHTML compiler appears to hang, it is more likely the case that you have actually hit a Javascript error. (You can probably see the error in the Safari Javascript console too, it is just that Firebug is far more informative.)
