I am going to check this in, so you guys can review 'in situ'. It
should be very safe since there are only changes to the replicator
components and tests. (I want to checkpoint this so I can make the
next level of tweaks, and I believe this gets us to a point where
Pablo can start using, and reporting bugs.)
