I'm tracking this as LPP-8563 We did have the custom cursor working for the SWF10 grid component's column slider (see examples/components/grid_example.lzx) and that still works in trunk, but a bunch of things are not working, the API calls in testcase test/cursors.lzx all seem to be broken.
