I turned this option back off, since it seems to completely scramble HTML emails.
You'll just have to be aware that the mailing list will not let you send messages with large attachments. If you need to send an attachment with your email, you will need to either post it in the forums or Jira (or some other site of your choice) and refer to the forum or Jira post in email instead.
