Yes, unfortunately that's true. I just went through a full build of Apache Flex 4.8 on the weekend (feature compatible with Adobe Flex 4.6), and had to use a 32bit SDK on a 64bit machine to be able to build Flex. Java 7 does not currently work with Flex, but I doubt that you can build OpenLaszlo with Java 7 anyway (haven't tried it).
There a still a few things we need to check for the automated build. On my machine, I never managed to make the shell script files executable when creating the tar files. I'll create a JIRA where I'll document what the problem is. - Raju
