Yeah you're right. I'll keep looking for a solution. The fact that
it's only an issue in swf9 makes me think it may be a Flash player
bug...

The inner try/catch block is supposed to explicitly catch this kind
of error. Perhaps the behavior of nested try/catch blocks changed
in when we updated the flex compiler?
