Has anyone used MySQL's new XML functionality in conjunction with their OpenLaszlo apps? (As documented here: http://tinyurl.com/ kzzzw ). If so, how was your experience? Is data submission and retrieval noticeably faster?
I'm also interested in hearing people's thoughts on storing XML directly in the table vs the normal method of creating XML using external script. Since OL makes such heavy use of XML for dynamic data manipulation, I wonder if this is the way to go for all my applications in future, or whether it has any downsides...
