I don't think you can actually just drop Laszlo code into an HTML
document; you need to embed the Laszlo file. The compiler should
provide you with the wrapper code necessary to do this, in most cases.
 You can click one of the "Deploy" buttons (Server or SOLO) and it'll
explain how to put your Laszlo app in a web page in either proxied or
non-proxied mode, and provide you with examples of wrapper code.

For instance, here's an example of SOLO wrapper code to be used to
embed a non-proxied version of the app in an HTML document:

<!DOCTYPE html
  PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd";>
<html>
   <head>
      <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
      <link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="http://www.laszlosystems.com/favicon.ico";>
      <title>Laszlo Application</title>
<style type="text/css">
          html, body { margin: 0; padding: 0; height: 100%; }
          body { background-color: #eaeaea; }
        </style></head>
   <body><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
data="my-apps/myApp.lzx.swf?lzproxied=false" width="640" height="400">
         <param name="movie" value="my-apps/myApp.lzx.swf?lzproxied=false">
         <param name="quality" value="high">
         <param name="scale" value="noscale">
         <param name="salign" value="LT">
         <param name="menu" value="false"></object></body>
</html>
