This is supposed to work, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had rotted.
Can you please file a bug? If you need to know where a subview appears in
the coordinate system when its parent stretches you could use
unstretchedwidth, like this: 

parentpos = width * thesubview.x/unstretchedwidth
