Coming to disadvantages, I see one

Responding to this point, and anticipating some messaging we're rolling out this week, let me say that we are working on support for Flash 9 in OpenLaszlo as part of our multiple-runtimes effort (codenamed Legals). As many of you know, Flash 9 has a new _javascript_ dialect, ActionScript 3, and AS3 has optional strong typing. We are also closely watching the ECMAScript Release 4 standards process, where the "official" support for optional strong typing is being worked on, with the goal of moving LZX to ES4 as that standard solidifies. So your wish may well come true :-)
