You are right! The recording test doesn't work... it used to. Definitely a bug. If you file a bugin JIRA, we'll be more likely not to lose track of it. I'll try to take a look at why that broke over the next few days.
The red5oflaDemo sounds like the same bug. That one is on my list on the wiki of things to do -- I think it has a few other bugs as well.
