I think this example does what you want - databinding to lay out chunks of text vertically:

If this doesn't answer your question, please post the code (or a simple subset of the code, better), screenshots, and the version info.

In our work to integrate OpenLaszlo and the Plone CMS, we are experiencing some difficulties in laying out the data we are receiving back from the CMS as XML.  Please reply to Debra, Jim, and I with any info (as well as the user list of course) as they are not on the list.  To clarify # 2 below from Debra, we are getting a layout that runs vertically even when specifying an x-axis.  We hope we have not run across any bugs and simply are just not getting the code right – so if anyone has some code snippets or suggestions (or good pointers to references) please let us know.

Thanks!

Subject: Laszlo Issues

Paul,

The following are issues we had in getting attempting layout widgets.

1)                   We were unable to use _javascript_ in order to increment a number in a loop using the Laszlo datapath element.

2)                   We were unable to use the <simplelayout> tag as well as the layout element in the canvas and view tags.   When we used the x axis the widgets would display on the same line side by side instead the widgets would appear vertically but on different rows and the text label widget would not show up at all.

Debra
