I am not aware of an OpenLaszlo module on for Perl (it would be at search.cpan.org) but Perl does have POE which can be used for event loops of GUI apps, and I'm thinking Catalyst as a persistent app server (FastCGI, or apache+mod_perl) might be usable. What does the Ruby module provide?
