It should work fine. It might be nice if the registration point could
be specified for compiled resources...

Using swfmill, I was able to place the cursor in a .swf at negative x and y coordinates
[sample swfmill .xml below], thus emulating the "registration point" behavior
of flash. I then used the resulting .swf as the cursor and it worked beautifully.
