If you haven't done it already:

All you have to do to run PHP on your mac is uncomment the LoadModule directive 
in your apache config.  Line 115 of

/etc/apache2/httpd.conf

then in your System Prefs/Sharing turn web sharing off and back on so it reads 
the new config.
