I tried to upgrade from l2h98.1p1 to l2h98.1p3 and found that it didn't work
as well as p1 did.
(a)
the warnings were only displayed when i did it -debug. I like the warnings.
(b)
there is an obscure bug where i get the following messages at the end:
Doing section links .................ndbm store returned -1, errno 70, key
"math_markup" at /anw/software/bin/latex2html line 971.

When I run it with -debug on, these messages disappear!!!

there is something wrong with the order of the figures - I am not sure what
the bug is exactly, but some of the images are in place of other images. no
such problem in p1.
On the other hand -
some of the figures got their captions back - but not all of them. that is
when I got error messages because captions had macros in them, and it would
say that it can't give a figure number to them. In p3, there were fewer of
those, but there were some (could it be because of \cite's in captions?).
